# Let there be CAT6 LAN

Today I managed to spare some time and connected cat6 cables to both of my RS units.

A few days ago I configured the switch and made LAG preparations for these two devices. For my DS units everything is configured as well but I will move them into the rack when SSDs will arrive and the data has been moved to new arrays on the RS side.

These are initial cable management steps, and I will see how things will pan out. Connected my uplink CAT7 cable as well to my other communication rack on the top floor, no problems so far. At least I won’t have to freeze in the basement when I have to do some long configuration and setup tasks.
