Synology DVA7400 overview
Just last week, Synology officially introduced the new VSaaS service called Synology 365, which was already announced at this year's Computex expo. With a new series of existing cameras to support the cloud-based surveillance platform, we now have Synology's first rack-based DVA system, the DVA7400.

Also announced at this year's expo, along with an upcoming new desktop model, the new DVA7400 is a brand-new 2U high-capacity surveillance appliance.
The model will come as a 2U 12-bay rack model in a familiar Synology enclosure, powered by yet another expected AMD CPU, the Ryzen 1780B. It features a dual 10GbE network support and an NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada/Pro 2000 Blackwell GPU card, used for all the advanced on-device AI capabilities. It will also have 16GB of DDR4 ECC memory with an upgrade option up to 32GB (2x16).
On the back of the unit, along the already mentioned dual 10GbE ports, the DVA7400 will have a dedicated 1GbE management port as well as two USB 3.0 ports.
As expected, the appliance is compatible with Synology-branded Plus or Enterprise drives from their HAT3300 or HAT5300 lineup.
Being a full rack device, the 7400 model is only 60cm deep, so it will fit nicely inside even smaller rack cabinets, and weights around 13kg (with no drives).
AI-Powered NVR for Proactive Security and Business Analytics
It is equipped with three 60mm vents and a dual PSU (800W), so the noise level (about 52 dB (A)) with a full array of 12 drives will be considerable. This will ofcourse depend on the actual drives, their number and activity, but again, being a rack device, be sure to keep it in a secure and noise-isolated location.
Considering this is more than just a DVA appliance, this shouldn't come as a surprise, because the 7400 model will not just run on-device Surveillance Station, but a full-blown DSM installation. This means that while it will be advertised as a surveillance device, it can also be used as a regular NAS as well.

As with all other Synology rack devices, the DVA7400 comes with a fixed 3-year Synology warranty with no option to extend it via the warranty plus subscription. The official rollout of this model is planned for the end of August 2026.
